YUVA 2.0 (Ongoing Skill-Training)

YUVA 2.0 Phase-II, there was a target to provide skill training to 10,000 youths in various job roles in this phase. Delhi Police entered into a MoU singed on dated 30.04.2022 with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship ‘MSDE’ which will facilitate in channelizing the funds from the World Bank under the “SANKALP SCHEME”. In the current phase of the program, Delhi Police focused upon the learning gained in the first phase and continue the program with renewed vigor. Delhi Police engaged 13 Training Partners (T.Ps) for imparting the vocational skill training to candidates enrolled for different 25 job roles/skills like Field Technician & Networking Storage, Data Entry Operator, Front Office Executive, 4-Wheeler drivers, Customer Care Executive, Makeup Artist, Documentation Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, F&B steward, Pedicurist & Manicurist, Beauty Therapist, Retail Sales Associate, FTCP etc.

The journey from YUVA 1.0 to YUVA 2.0 is a true manifestation of Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Mantra of ‘aatma-nirbharta’- from relying upon funds from PMKVY for skilling youth, to generate alternative sources of funding for sustaining the initiative. A special emphasis has been given to women candidates. In order to enroll candidates from various districts, the enrollment fairs were conducted in all districts of Delhi. In this phase, total 11,481 candidates were enrolled during the enrollment fairs held in all districts of Delhi in June, 2022 and total 6328 candidates were enrolled during various enrollment fairs in December, 2022 held in all districts of Delhi. During the registration of these candidates on the web-portal/SIP-portal of NSDC, some of candidates could not appear or dropped out and finally total 14,348 candidates (Male-5893 & Female- 8455) were registered for skill training on the web-portal/SIP-portal of NSDC, out of which only 12,535 candidates successfully attended the training program at designated training centers located in 70 Police Stations across Delhi. After completion of the tenure of training, the assessment of these candidates has also completed and total 10,056 candidates (Male-3945 Female- 6085) have passed and certified for various job roles in this phase of training.
